The Digital Analysts sit within the award winning (DataIQ – best place to work in data 2023) cinch Decision Intelligence function.. They are responsible for building out our intelligence-led, data informed ethos across cinch.  This will include the following core objectives;  

  • Responsible for analysis of our digital products by providing a considered, data-driven and customer-centric point of view that uncovers opportunities for cinch. 

  • Providing ‘best-in-class’ digital analytics capabilities to cinch, supporting one or more business areas. 

  • Work closely alongside cinch’s wider Decision Intelligence teams, including; Data Analysis & Insights, BI & Performance Reporting, Data Engineering & ML Ops), Data Science, and other key stakeholders. 

  • Fully leveraging the value of cinch’s digital data, through delivering of critical Decision Intelligence that drives tangible, measurable business value. 


What you’ll be working on 

  • Funnel forensics – Leverage our digital data to identify points of friction and leakage in the cinch user journey and advise our stakeholders of performance risks and high-value opportunities. 

  • Behavioural analytics – Continuously develop our event-tracking capabilities to collect user behaviour data and understand how users interact with site features and what behaviours are associated with conversion goals. 

  • Diagnostic analytics – Act as custodian of our digital KPIs by investigating and understanding trends (e.g. what has happened & why), equipping our stakeholders with knowledge to pre-empt future risks and take action. 

  • Experimentation – Supporting cinch’s experimentation capabilities by advising hypotheses, building data models & dashboards, providing in-flight analysis or conclusions, and running statistical tests. 

  • Reporting – Developing our digital analytics reporting ecosystem by finessing stakeholder requirements and partnering with our Data Engineering or Business Intelligence teams to build data models and impactful visualisations. 

  • Self-service – Facilitating digital analytics self-serve capabilities throughout cinch to empower stakeholders to investigate and analyse using our analytics products with best practice guidance and review processes. 

  • Tech platform support – Provide domain knowledge and subject matter expertise across our digital tooling suite to advise on tagging requirements, pixel implementation, and attribution. 

  • Training – Partner with our Learning & Development team to curate regular training on digital tooling, build learning resources, and keep our community updated on the newest features available. 


Skills & Expertise 

  • Digital analytics SME – Demonstrate subject matter expertise across the digital analytics tech stack to develop and maintain our digital analytics capabilities (e.g. Adobe Analytics/Google Analytics, Adobe Target/Google Tag Manager). 

  • Proficient SQL coder – Demonstrate proficiency in SQL syntax to build data models capable of analysing digital & commercial data using advanced techniques (e.g. CTEs, window functions). 

  • Experimentation – Demonstrate knowledge of experimentation methodology (e.g. AB, MVT, Causal) and building data models and visualisations to support conclusions (e.g. Adobe Analytics/Google Analytics, Power BI, Excel, Python). 

  • Self-starter – Demonstrate a pro-active mindset to identifying opportunities & threats using our data, using this approach to advise our stakeholders and lead development of solutions. 

  • Intellectually curious – Demonstrate a passion for challenging the status quo by learning new technologies, testing new methods, and questioning stakeholders and colleagues. 

  • Problem-solver – Demonstrate an ability to propose customer-centric solutions by developing data products & analysis that will empower cinch to solve problems for our customers. 

  • Strong communicator – Demonstrate effective visual and oral communication by using data to sell a compelling story to stakeholders (e.g. PowerPoint presentations, building dashboards), as well as being a good listener able to understand the needs of the business. 

  • Collaborator – Demonstrate an ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams from across the business with varying degrees of data literacy, diverse needs, and different data assets. 


Essential criteria: 

  • High SQL proficiency – Demonstrate high proficiency in SQL syntax to model digital data for reporting & diagnostic purposes. 

  • Power BI proficiency – Demonstrate ability to build insightful reports for stakeholders that drive decisions. 

  • Adobe Analytics or GA4 proficiency – Demonstrate knowledge of Adobe Analytics/GA4 configuration & reporting.
