Purpose of the role:

Responsible for the procurement of vehicles into cinch, from various suppliers.  The candidate will be provided with information to assist in the selection and valuation of the vehicles. 

Will be required to source from internal and external sources to hit volume and profit targets by researching and pricing vehicles from market information, while also ensuring vehicle standards are in line with the companies’ requirements.

On site visits to preparation outlets and commercial partners throughout the country may also be required for quality assurance, stock reconciliation and relationship management.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Purchase vehicles from a number of platforms including direct from suppliers.
  • Manage and mitigating the risk, accurately profile and price/value stock to ensure a profitable deal in line with Decision Intelligence recommendations.
  • Build and manage relationships with suppliers.
  • Manage the rate of disposal vs supply, ensuring the correct balance between SIV, CAP and retail market, including the retail sales rate, maximising the return on all assets.
  • Monitor both wholesale and retail markets, anticipate trends early, garner market intelligence.
  • Work with the wider cinch team in different business functions to lend support and expertise where required. 
  • Provide daily and weekly reports/analysis detailing the figures and operational performance of the vehicles purchased. 
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings.
  • Manage and lead any ad-hoc projects assigned to you. Produce reports detailing the results of any said projects.
  • A degree of flexible working is required to ensure the cover of purchasing platforms.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience in the motor industry (3+ years).
  • Previous experience in automotive pricing / stock management / purchasing.
  • Display strong analytical skills and able to provide pro-active insights as well as recommendations for changes.  
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills, with an ability to interact with all levels of end users. 
  • Advanced IT Skills and proficient in using Microsoft Office applications (e.g., experience in creation of PowerPoint presentations in order to report data to stakeholders) and Intermediary to advanced Excel knowledge (V Lookup, pivot tables).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Team player.
  • Self-starter- can adopt a pro-active approach and take initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Positive, ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Good time management – ability to balance multiple tasks, and switch priority / focus as needed.
